Several Gliders raced in the Barnelopet Saturday, March 5th. Gliders' skiers swept the races, with Casey Crawford winning the 3k and Jordan Miner winning the 1K. Baxter Waltermire came in third with a photo finish. Also competing were Abby and James LaBounty - good to see those Little Gliders back out on skis. A good, solid effort and a lot of fun was had by all.
March 12th marked the last race of the season - the Mesa Meltdown. It was a great day for the Gliders. Quinn Baker took 3rd place in the 5K with a time of 26:37, shaving almost 10 minutes off his time from last year (35:38). Casey Crawford came in 6th place and Baxter Watlermire came in 7th place. Both young skiers also showed improvement. This was Baxter's first freestyle race, a long one at that, and Baxter skied 11 minutes faster than last year!
Coach Chris skied the 20K race in 1:09:22, a marked improvment at 9 minutes faster than last year (1:18:24).
